Indirect probes of muon EDM and spin force
Yohei Ema, University of Minnesota & FTPI,

Motivated by the muon g-2 anomaly, in this talk, I will discuss indirect probes of muon EDM and muon spin force. Storage ring experiments directly probe muon EDM and spin force. At the same time, they induce operators involving only electrons and nucleons, after integrating out muon, which are then probed by precise atomic/molecular experiments. In the case of the muon EDM, we will see that paramagnetic atomic EDM experiments put a better constraint on the muon EDM than the BNL result by more than one order of magnitude. In the case of the spin force, we will see that the parameter region that explains the muon g-2 anomaly is disfavored, but the constraint is subject to sizable nuclear physics uncertainty. We argue that a new muSR-type experiment is possible to improve the sensitivity of the muon spin force, free from nuclear physics uncertainty.

The talk is in 469 Lauritsen.
