Strong & Radiative Decays: two different stories in B-physics
Federico Cima, Caltech,

In this talk, I will present some recent progress on two different classes of heavy hadron decays, whose precise measurement could help improve our understanding of the flavor structure of the Standard Model. First, I will discuss the strong decays of the Lambda(c1) baryon, which, occurring near the kinematic threshold, present subtleties in the theoretical prediction of its differential decay rate. Second, I will present a comprehensive study of radiative semileptonic B-hadron decays, semileptonic decays accompanied by an additional photon in the final state. Modeling these decays is important for current and future B-factories, as they constitute an unavoidable background for ordinary semileptonic decays when the photon goes undetected.

The talk is in 469 Lauritsen.
