Magnetomechanical detection of high-frequency gravitational waves
Giacomo Marocco, LBNL, Berkeley,

I will describe a proposal to search for gravitational waves (GWs) in the kHz-MHz frequencies, just above the LIGO band. I will motivate searches for such GWs, and introduce how quantum noise limits the sensitivity of opto- and magnetomechanical GW detectors. I will show how a future table-top device might achieve broadband sensitivity to high-frequency GWs produced by a variety of SM and BSM scenarios. The talk is based on 2408.01583 with Daniel Carney, Gerard Higgins, and Michael Wentzel.

The talk is in 469 Lauritsen.
