The Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope opens a new era for extragalactic astronomy. With a field of view about 100 times that of Hubble, Roman will deliver galaxy samples of unprecedented size and depth. Interpreting them will require galaxy models that reproduce population-level statistics, and a much better understanding of dwarf galaxies beyond the Local Group as well as emission line models. In this talk, I will discuss three projects toward that goal:

1. A nearby laboratory: the curious case of Centaurus A, where dwarf galaxies may be relics of past AGN activity,
2. Emission-line models for local dwarf galaxies
3. Extending these models to galaxies at Cosmic Noon

Together, these galaxy models lay the groundwork for interpreting the dwarf and high redshift galaxy populations that the Next Generation Telescopes discover.
